Following his wonderfully flamboyant recent singles 'Video' and 'Like That', South London-based pop-star-in-the-making Show Boy (aka Jovis Lane) revealed his Surreal EP last Friday. Featuring 2 previously unheard tracks and an ingenious new 'Dark Mix' of 'Video', we felt 'Mannequin' also deserved the 'List Pick' treatment. Opening with an isolated vocal and a bouncing synth line, crisp beats meet chorussy guitar stabs as Lane's attitude fuelled vocals sit front and centre. Soaring into the track's euphoric refrain after a brief, building pre-chorus, Lane belts “take me, shun me, but if you need a friend, lover, I’ll do it, I’ll be your mannequin” recalling a comforting wave of noughties nostalgia that'll keep you dancing for days.
